How much do you spend on clothing

I've been through my closets numerous times and have come to the conclusion that I really need to shop for clothing. Its been so long I don't know how much is too much to spend on clothing in one month. I really have to this is a must with my job and all. But I don't know where to start in terms of what percentage I should allocate towards clothing out of my paycheck. So just exactly how much do you spend on clothing each month?? or annually??? What percentage of your take home pay do you consider a reasonable amount??

    Believe it or not about 50 bucks, yep 50 bucks a year! It's mainly due to the fact I wear my clothes till they wear out and that I shop at thirt stores. The last time i bought clothes was in Oct on my B-Day.

    If you want to know what I spend in a typical month, that would be $0.00. Most months, I spend absolutely nothing. I have a closet and dresser full of clothing. I just buy an item here and there when I need to replace something or sometimes if we happen to be at the outlets. The last time I bought any clothing was President's Weekend when we were at the Van Heusen outlet. I bought 3 dress shirts. I may not buy another piece of clothing for months. I'm always shocked when I read of people spending hundreds per month on clothing. I don't know what the heck they could possibly be buying to spend that kind of money month after month. Their homes must be overflowing with clothing.

    Like oceansluver78, I wear things until they wear out. I have dress shirts that I've had for at least 15 years. Pants tend not to last as long, but I've got plenty that are 5-10 years old. I usually get a new pair of black walking shoes about once per year and a pair of sneakers about the same. I bought 2 new suits in September. That was the first time I had gotten suits in about 9 years.
