i don't get extra paychecks because i calculate everything weekly... but sometimes i get an extra day a week at one of my jobs, so that is an extra $160 a week. I used to put half in savings and use half to buy something i sort of needed/mostly wanted (like clothes or shoes). Now any extra money we get I just add into the mortgage. Big Grin

I get paid on the 5th and 20th of every month so there are no 3-paycheck months in my case. But, I would spend the extra paycheck just as I would the regular paychecks (save some, put some to bills, etc.)

I try really hard to save the whole thing. Since I calculate my budget based on just two paychecks a month, the extra paycheck is theoretically something I shouldn't need to pay bills. So when it comes I try to immediately send it to savings. Of course, it doesn't always work out this way, but I try!

i only get paid twice a month, not biweekly. at my other job i used to get an extra paycheck. it didn't seem so extra when i got it though.

I'm in the boat with L Saver. I try to save the majority of it, but I usually spend some of it on something I want. I should be a bit more strict, but I do save about half of it, so I'm not so bad.

I usualyl plan ahead on what I will use the money for. My husband and I land on the same paydays, so it's a double bonus for us. We calculate all our expenses based on two paychecks a month, so this is extra money. It will go to paying off debt and to savings.

I also set my budget based on only 2 checks a month. My check is automatically split between a savings account and my checking and I try to leave the portion that goes into savings there. But what goes into checking is free game. Over the years that "extra" money has gone to a variety of things - travel, a computer, stuff for my motorcycle, etc. Whatever I don't use gets put into savings.

In all my working years in education, I was paid once a month. Now that I'm retired, nothing has changed... it's still once a month. But if I did get an extra paycheck, I would add it to my travel fund since the EF is completely funded.

I don't get paid in that manner, but when I get extra money (like a bonus), I save it!

I always *plan* to save it. But sure as sheet, something comes up and/or breaks down, etc. @@ Ugghhh......so irritating.
